Tie Dyed Vellum Technique

Tie-Dye using Pigment Sprinkles

Bee Thankful Tie DyeDisinfectant Wipes Pigment Sprinkles Tie-Dye Background

My August Fresh Ideas Newsletter featured the Pigment Sprinkles Tie-Dye Background Technique using everyday household items such as tissue paper and disinfectant wipes.

Baby wipes would also work, but I like the texture of the disinfectant wipes.

Looks like honeycomb!

Here's another tie-dye background that I paired with the stamp Bee Thankful colored in with a variety of Stampin' Blends.

It's easy to create bright and vivid backgrounds with this technique.

If you'd like to learn more, please add your name to my mailing list (sign-up box is in the upper right-hand corner of this page) between August 26-September 3.

You will receive my Pigment Sprinkles Tie-Dye Background Tutorial in a pdf format.

It will arrive approximately 10 minutes after the sign up process has been completed.

As an added bonus, you'll receive my Adhesives 101 tutorial as my gift to you!

Hope to hear from you!

Tie Dyed Butterfly-Nacho Average Color Challenge #148

Our color challenge this week over at the Nacho Average challenge site features two of Stampin' Up!'s In Colors: Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder combined with Bermuda Bay.

Here's my contribution:

Butterfly Thinlits 044

For this card I used watercolor paper and reinkers to create a tie dyed background which peeks out underneath a butterfly cut out using the Big Shot and Butterfly Thinlit.

It's an easy technique.  Check here for instructions!

Here's what the butterfly looked like before the cut out was added back in. It's pretty in its own right too!

Tie Dyed Vellum Four Feathers-Nacho Average Color Challenge #126

Our color challenge this week over at the Nacho Average site is Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Real Red.

Here's my contribution:

Four Feathers 007

For this card, I used the Tie Dyed Vellum technique.   After the ink dried on the vellum, I stamped the feathers from Four Feathers using the masking technique in Versamark and then heat embossed them using white embossing powder.  I think this card is really striking!
