Snow Front

Snow Front Happy Birthday

Carol Birthday

This is the birthday card I made for our neighbor Carol.

I used the stamp set Snow Front which is perfect for our setting in the mountains of southern Colorado.

It was easy to create.

  1. Create a mask for the moon by punching a circle out of a post-it-note using 1" circle punch.
  2.  Place the punched circle on a Whisper/Basic White card front.  Ink mountain by tapping Misty Moonlight and Gorgeous Grape on the stamp.  Stamp over the circle mask.
  3. Ink trees by tapping Old Olive and Mossy Meadow inks on the stamp.  Stamp over the circle mask.
  4. Stamp landscape using Old Olive ink below the mountains and the trees.
  5. Lightly sponge Misty Moonlight ink around the mask, mountain and trees.  Lightly sponge Pool Party below the stamped images.
  6. Remove the mask.  Place the stencil over the circle left on the card front.  Using a sponge dauber, dab Frosty White Shimmer Paint inside the stencil.  Remove the stencil.
  7.  Stamp greeting from Blossoms in Bloom on Whisper/Basic White card base using Gorgeous Grape ink.  I used the Stamparatus.
  8. Attach card front to Misty Moonlight mat.  Attach to card base to complete.

Water Color Wash Snow Front

Watercolor wash deer

I love the simplicity of this card.

I created a water color wash background by applying Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, and Petal Pink inks on a piece of watercolor paper using a water painter.  Once it completely dried, I stamped the tree and deer images from Snow Front using Memento Black ink and the Stamparatus.    The greeting is from Festive Post and was stamped using Misty Moonlight ink and the Stamparatus.

Plaid Tidings Snow Front

Plaid Tidings

Here's a quick and easy card to create using Snow Front stamp set, combined with Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper.

I inked the mountains with Seaside Spray ink, then tapped Misty Moonlight ink along the edges and stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I colored the snow man using Seaside Spray, Real Red, and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Write Markers and stamped using the Stamparatus to get a dark image.  I also used the Stamparatus to stamp the trees in Misty Moonlight and cardinals in Real Red.  The landscape was stamped free hand using Seaside Spray full strength and off stamped.  The greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings and was stamped in Real Red using the Stamparatus.

Snow Front Gleaming Ornaments

Snow Front ornaments

Cabin ornament

While I had the Gleaming Ornament punches (retiring)! on my craft table, I decided to pair them with the stamp set Snow Front to make these winter-themed Christmas ornaments.

Snow Front is one of my favorite winter sets as it perfectly depicts my surroundings in the mountains of Southern Colorado.

  1. Punch a large and small ornament out of Shimmery White card stock using the Gleaming Ornament punches.  Sponge along the edges if desired.  Attach them together..
  2.  Stamp deer, cabin, trees, and landscape on the ornaments, so the design is continuous on each ornament.
  3.  Punch large and small ornaments out of coordinating card stock using the Gleaming Ornament punches.  Attach to the back of each ornament, off-setting them slightly.
  4. Stamp snow on card front.  Stamp greeting from Festive Post (retiring)!  I used the Stamparatus.  Attach to mat.  Attach to card base.
  5.  Attach ornaments using Dimensionals to pop them up.  Add baker's twine or cording bows using Glue Dots.  Attach rhinestones  to complete.

Seaside Spray Buffalo Check Snow Front

Blue gingham

Here's another card I created using Snow Front, one of my favorite stamp sets found in the Holiday Catalog.

This scene was inspired by the North Hardscrabble Creek that runs through the front of our property.

I think the birds in the set are meant to be Cardinals, and therefore should be stamped in red.

But, we do not have Cardinals here in the mountains of southern Colorado.

But, we do have Stellar Blue Jays!

And of course, we have deer!

The Buffalo Check background was stamped using Seaside Spray.

I stamped all images using the Stamparatus.

The greeting comes from Itty Bitty Greetings.

Snow Front in Purple

Purple reflectionsSnow Front Purple Reflections

Purple winter sceneSnow Front in Purple

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog is Snow Front.

With the mountains, pine trees, snow, and even the cute little country cabin, it is the perfect set for my surroundings here in the mountains of southern Colorado.

I played around with the set to create some different watercolor landscapes.

For both cards, I started by creating a mask for the moon cut out of a post-it-note using my 1 3/4" circle punch.

I laid the stencil on my watercolor paper card front and sponged on metallic silver ink.

For the first card, I placed the punched circle over the sponged moon, and added Pacific Point and Highland Heather inks to create the sky.

Next, I stamped the trees and landscape using Highland Heather ink and the water using Seaside Spray and Balmy Blue inks.

To create the reflection, I stamped the trees on my Silicone Craft Mat in Highland Heather ink.  Then, I turned the mat so the image would be upside down.  I placed it on the bottom section of the card front and gently rubbed the backside of the mat with my fingers, transferring the ink to the paper.

For the second card, after sponging the moon, I stamped the mountains using Soft Suede ink.  I tapped Shaded Spruce, Pretty Peacock, and Highland Heather inks on the tree stamp to get the three-tone coloring.  A simple watercolor wash using an aqua painter was done to create the water.

Merry Christmas-Tri-Fold Snow Front Card

Snow front tri foldTri-Fold Snow Front Card Closed

Snow Front tri fold openedTri-Fold Snow Front Card Opened

Snow Front Tri fold insideTri-Fold Snow Front Card Inside

This card was inspired by an idea I saw from Michelle Last.

It is an easy tri-fold card using Snow Front, one of my favorite stamp sets found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

This stamp set is perfect for my surrounding in the mountains of southern Colorado.

The mountains, trees, creek, and deer.

Plus the little cabin which reminds me of our little house in the big forest.

This stamp set has it all!

Card measures 9 3/4" x 5 1/2" and was scored at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2".

I stamped the mountains using a combination of Night of Navy, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray inks.

Once stamped, I trimmed around them using a pair of scissors.

The cabin, deer, snowman, and greeting were stamped using the Stamparatus.

The mountains, trees, water, and landscape were stamped free hand.

It came together pretty easily.  I hope you'll give it a try.

Thanks Michelle for your inspiration!

Snow Front will be the featured product in my December newsletter which will hit e mail inboxes today,  December 10th.
