Snowflake Wishes Dryer Sheet Technique-Happy New Year!

Dryer Sheet Technique Snowflake Wishes New YearHere's Wishing You a Sparkly New Year!

Dryer Sheet Technique:

  1. Stamp images on card front.  I used Snowflake Wishes stamped on Whisper White card front using Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, and Pool Party inks.  Let ink dry.
  2.  Spread Tombow Glue on card front using a brush.  You could also apply glue using an adhesive sheet, glue stick, xyron machine....
  3. Place dryer sheet on the card front, spreading it out on the glue using your finger tips.  Any brand of dryer sheet will do.  Used is better so it is soft.
  4.  Trim the edges of the dryer sheet to the card front using a paper trimmer or pair of scissors.
  5. Sprinkle fine glitter over the dryer sheet, working it into the glue underneath using your finger tips.  Tap off any excess glitter.  I used Dazzling Diamonds (retired), but any fine glitter will do.
  6.  Complete the card as desired.  I attached the card front to a strip of Snowflake Splendor DSP, covering the seam with a piece of Gorgeous Grape ribbon secured to the back. I added a bow with a Glimmer Dot attached to the center.  The greeting is from the retired set Teeny Tiny Wishes and was stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink.  The card front was matted to a piece of Gorgeous Grape, then attached to Misty Moonlight card base to complete.

This card really sparkles in person!

Thank you Snow Much Paper Towel Background

I often incorporate the paper towels I use to clean stamps and blot watercolors in my crafting.

I had this paper towel left over from the Nov and Dec projects, and decided to use them to make after Christmas winter-themed thank you cards.

I love the tie-dye effect!

It's a great way to recycle and reuse, and the possibilities are endless!

You can see my other paper towel projects HERE.

Cat Snow Globe Christmas Card

Cat Snow Globe

I created this shaker card for our four year old granddaughter, Madysen.

She loves kitties, and I hope this one will make her smile.

(Click HERE to see more of my Shaker Card creations)

Shaker Cards are easy to create.

Here's how I did this one:

  1. To create the shaker card, cut the globe out of Smoky Slate card stock measuring 5" x 3 3/4"  using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and Snow Globe die.
  2. Stamp greeting.  You want to do this before the card is put together.  I used a greeting from the retired set Flurry of Wishes stamped in Memento Black ink.
  3. Attach Basic Black card stock measuring 5 1/4" x 4" to Petal Pink card base.
  4. Cut cat out of Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper using the Cat Punch.  Tie a bow around the cat using baker's twine or ribbon.  I used pink baker's twine out of my stash. Attach to the center of a Basic Black mat.
  5. Lay the card flat and carefully place sequins or glitter over the cat.  I used sequins out of my stash.
  6. Apply adhesive around the cut opening and all along the backside of the Smoky Slate card front.
  7. Remove the backing on the Shaker Dome.  Insert it into the opening on the card base.  Carefully place the Smoky Slate card base with the dome inserted over the punched cat and onto the Basic Black mat.  Rub the card front with your fingertips to adhere the adhesive to the mat.
  8.  Cut snow globe base out of Petal Pink and Basic Black card stock using the Snow Globe dies.  Layer together using a small amount of Fine Tip or Multi-purpose Glue.  Attach to the card front.
  9.  Add sequins using Fine Tip or Multi-purpose Glue to complete.

Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo Festive Post

Festive Post Bermuda Bay Melon Mambo

As soon as I saw the little car image in the stamp set Festive Post (retiring!), I knew I had to purchase the set.

You see, the little car reminds me of my car, a turquoise all electric Chevy Bolt!

Bolt 12 03 20

I used my car as inspiration for a card in non traditional Christmas colors!

This card was quick and easy to create.

Here's how:

  1. Stamp trees from Festive Post on Whisper White card stock using Melon Mambo ink.  I used the Stamparatus, moving the plate one notch to get even spacing and good ink coverage.  Attach to Melon Mambo mat.
  2. Stamp car image on Bermuda Bay card stock using Bermuda Bay ink.  Attach to Melon Mambo mat.  Attach to Whisper White card base.
  3.  Stamp greeting from Festive Post on card base using Bermuda Bay ink.   I used the Stamparatus.
  4.  Add Melon Mambo enamel stars to complete.

Water Color Wash Snow Front

Watercolor wash deer

I love the simplicity of this card.

I created a water color wash background by applying Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, and Petal Pink inks on a piece of watercolor paper using a water painter.  Once it completely dried, I stamped the tree and deer images from Snow Front using Memento Black ink and the Stamparatus.    The greeting is from Festive Post and was stamped using Misty Moonlight ink and the Stamparatus.

Plaid Tidings Snow Front

Plaid Tidings

Here's a quick and easy card to create using Snow Front stamp set, combined with Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper.

I inked the mountains with Seaside Spray ink, then tapped Misty Moonlight ink along the edges and stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I colored the snow man using Seaside Spray, Real Red, and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Write Markers and stamped using the Stamparatus to get a dark image.  I also used the Stamparatus to stamp the trees in Misty Moonlight and cardinals in Real Red.  The landscape was stamped free hand using Seaside Spray full strength and off stamped.  The greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings and was stamped in Real Red using the Stamparatus.

Snow Front Gleaming Ornaments

Snow Front ornaments

Cabin ornament

While I had the Gleaming Ornament punches (retiring)! on my craft table, I decided to pair them with the stamp set Snow Front to make these winter-themed Christmas ornaments.

Snow Front is one of my favorite winter sets as it perfectly depicts my surroundings in the mountains of Southern Colorado.

  1. Punch a large and small ornament out of Shimmery White card stock using the Gleaming Ornament punches.  Sponge along the edges if desired.  Attach them together..
  2.  Stamp deer, cabin, trees, and landscape on the ornaments, so the design is continuous on each ornament.
  3.  Punch large and small ornaments out of coordinating card stock using the Gleaming Ornament punches.  Attach to the back of each ornament, off-setting them slightly.
  4. Stamp snow on card front.  Stamp greeting from Festive Post (retiring)!  I used the Stamparatus.  Attach to mat.  Attach to card base.
  5.  Attach ornaments using Dimensionals to pop them up.  Add baker's twine or cording bows using Glue Dots.  Attach rhinestones  to complete.

Tie-Dye Christmas Ornaments

Tie Dye ornamentsBermuda Bay and Melon Mambo

Tie dye ornaments gorgeous grapeSeaside Spray and Gorgeous Grape

Tie dye ornaments bermuda bay melon mamboBermuda Bay and Melon Mambo

Because of the flurry of Christmas card making over the past several days, my crafting table is full of stuff; stamps, ink, ribbon, glimmer dots....

I'm sure you can relate!

One of the items I put to the side was the paper towel that I used to blot watercolors from a few of my projects.  The colors were so vibrant and pretty, and I knew I wanted to use the paper towel to create tie-dyed Christmas ornaments.

This is a simple project and it's a great way to recycle and reuse.

(you can see my other paper towel background pieces here)

        1. Smooth out the paper towel and separate the plys.  You will be able to make double the ornaments using both plys.
        2. Attach paper towel to card stock back ground using Stampin' Seal, Tombow Glue or the like.  By securing the paper towel to a card stock background, you will be able to easily punch out the ornaments or trim it down for other projects.
        3. Punch ornaments using Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack.
        4. Attach to Shimmery White card front using Dimensionals to pop them up.
        5.  Stamp greeting from Festive Post.  I used the Stamparatus.
        6. Attach to mat, then to card base.
        7. For these cards, I used retired baker's twine and enamel dots from my stash to complete.

Christmas Gleaming Ornaments and Shimmer Paint

I created a series of cards featuring Christmas Gleaming stamp set and Gleaming Ornaments Punches (both are retiring on January 4, 2021) using Frost White Shimmer Paint, combined with different inks.

The color combo possibilities are endless!

Frost White shimmer paint and merry merlot Shimmer Paint and Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow accents

Pretty peacock poppy parade shimmerShimmer Paint with Pretty Peacock and Melon Mambo, Pretty Peacock, Silver Foil accents

Bermuda Bay Rich RazzleberryShimmer Paint with Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow, Silver Foil accents

Rich razzleberry bermuda bayShimmer Paint with Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple, Silver Foil accents

This technique is easy to do and provides a pretty shimmer to your creations.

Here's how:

  1. Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint to mix, then tip the bottle over so some of the paint settles in the lid.  Remove the lid, and pick up some of the paint on a sponge dauber.  Dab the paint on the ornaments found in Christmas Gleaming and stamp on card front.  For these cards, I used Glossy White card stock from my stash, but Whisper White or Shimmer White card stock will work as well.  Allow a few seconds for the paint to dry.
  2. With a sponge brayer or sponge, add color to the ornaments.  Make it as dark as you want by adding more color.  Buff with a paper towel.  The shimmer design on the ornaments will stand out.
  3. Punch ornaments out using coordinating Gleaming Ornaments punches.
  4. Stamp holly leaf image on card front.  Attach ornaments using Dimensionals to pop them up.
  5.  Stamp greeting from Christmas Gleaming or Festive Post.  I used the Stamparatus.
  6. Attach to card stock or silver foil mat.  Attach to card base.  Attach silver cording or ribbon to ornaments using Glue Dots to complete.
