Crystal Effects Varied Vases

Crystal Effects Vases

Crystal Effects has made a return in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

Crystal Effects is a water based glossy lacquer that works as a liquid embellishment.

Stampin' Up! retired it a couple of years ago, but has brought back an updated version that has white and silver flecks for an added touch of sparkle!

So fun, and the possibilities are endless.

For this cheery card, I used Crystal Effects to create the look of water in the stamped flower vases.

Here's how:
1. Stamp vases from Varied Vases on Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink.
2. Punch the vases out using the coordinating Vases Builder Punch.
3. Color each vase using Light and Dark Pool Party Blends.
4. Stamp the scalloped image on Shimmery White card base using Night of Navy ink.  I used the Stamparatus.
5.  Stamp the flowers on Shimmery White card base.  I used my Stamparatus to align the flowers, putting the stems in the vases.  I attached each vase, one by one on my card base using a small amount SNAIL Adhesive to temporarily hold each vase in place.  I aligned each flower image and used the Stamparatus.  This  ensured I would get a good stamped image.  I used Garden Green ink.  Remove the vases.
6. Color the flowers using a variety of Stampin' Blends.
7. Add Shimmery Crystal Effects to the vases.  Set them aside to dry completely.
8.  Stamp greeting using Night of Navy ink below the scalloped border.  I used the Stamparatus.  Attach card front to Night of Navy card base.
9. Attach vases.  I tucked the second vase behind the first vase, and then tucked the third vase behind the second vase.  The first vase is popped up using a Mini Dimensional.
10.  Attach enamel dots to complete.

Crystal Effects Stained Glass

Crystal Effects Stained Glass

Crystal Effects has made a return in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

Crystal Effects is a water based glossy lacquer that works as a liquid embellishment.

Stampin' Up! retired it a couple of years ago, but has brought back an updated version that has white and silver flecks for an added touch of sparkle!

So fun, and the possibilities are endless.

For this card, I used the new Shimmery Crystal Effects paired with the die cut found in the Stain Glass Dies for a sparkly, yet elegant sympathy card.

The background paper Feels Like Frost 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

Here's How:
1. Cut the half round stained glass out of Champagne Foil paper using the Big Shot and Stain Glass Die.  This is a delicate die, so if possible, cut it out using an adhesive backing on the foil paper.  That way, all you have to do is peel off the backing on the adhesive and apply to the card front without glue.  I used the retired Adhesive Sheets from Stampin' Up!
2.  Attach die-cut to Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper panel.  Carefully add Shimmery Crystal Effects in between the panes of the stained glass.  Sprinkle some Shimmer White Embossing Powder over the wet Crystal Effects for added sparkle.  Set aside to dry completely.
3. Stamp greeting from Painted Glass on Smoky Slate card base using Basic Gray ink.  I used the Stamparatus.
4. Attach the stain glass pane to the card basel.  Attach a piece of ribbon above the stain glass.  I used some silver sparkle ribbon from my stash.
5. Apply Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets to complete.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Painted Glass
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Smoky Slate, Champagne Foil, Feels Like Frost 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Stain Glass Die, Adhesive Sheet, Shimmery Crystal Effects, Shimmer White Embossing Powder, ribbon from my stash, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, Stamparatus

Torn Paper Mountainscape

Mountain scapes

Here's a companion piece to the torn seascape card featured HERE.

I live in the mountains of southern Colorado, so this is my daily view!

Steps to create this card were the same as the seascape card.  I just used different colors of torn papers to create my landscape.

As with the original, everything was embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder.

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Itty Bitty Greetings

Ink: Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue

Paper: Shaded Spruce, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White

Accessories: 1" circle punch, post-it-note, sponges, Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Die, Subtle Embossing Folder, Mini Dimensionals, Stamparatus.

Torn Paper Seascape

Subtle torn sea

This is one of my favorite cards, and it was so easy to create.

The landscape possibilities are endless!

The hardest part of this card is tearing the paper.

I know this is hard for many of us.  I tell my Ladies to just breath and tear!

After the piece was put together, I embossed everything using Subtle, my new favorite embossing folder.

It just adds the right amount of texture to finish the card.

Here's how:

  1. Cut rectangle frame out of Whisper White card stock using the Big Shot and 2 nested Stitched Rectangle dies.
  2. Create seascape out of torn pieces of Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Seaside Spray, Pool Party, Whisper White, and Purple Posy card stock. Cut strips measuring approx. 2 3/8” x 1 ¼”.  Tear one long edge of each of the strips.
  3. Build the seascape on a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 3 5/8” x 2 3/8”. Layer from the bottom up by positioning the Night of Navy strip first.   Apply SNAIL Adhesive to the bottom of the strip only.  Next, apply SNAIL Adhesive to the bottom of the strip of the Pacific Point.  Slip it behind the Night of Navy.  Keep building the layers by adding SNAIL to the bottoms of the strips of Seaside Spray, Whisper White. You will end with the Purple Posy mountains.
  4. To create a mask, punch a hole in a post-it-note using 1 ¼” circle punch. Slip the circle stencil behind the Purple Posy mountains and sponge on Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral inks creating the sunset.
  5. Place the punched post-it-note circle over the sun. Sponge Seaside Spray, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Pacific Point inks to create the sky.
  6. Emboss the finished seascape using the Big Shot and Subtle embossing folder. Emboss the fame using the Big Shot and Subtle embossing folder.  Emboss the Whisper White card base using the Big Shot and Subtle embossing folder.
  7. Stamp the greeting in Night of Navy ink using the Stamparatus for placement.
  8. Attach the seascape onto the card base. Add the frame using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up to complete.
