Last Chance Flower Shop Meets Work of Art-Quick and Easy Card

Highland Heather Work of Art
Flower Shop and Work of Art

Going, Going, Gone....

Only 2 more days to shop the Last Chance Stampin' Up! products.

Two of the stamp sets that are retiring are Flower Shop and Work of Art.

This is one of the cards we created during the May get together of the Wetmore Ladies.

I wanted to showcase the two retiring stamp sets in this quick and easy card.

But, this card also features something new: Highland Heather, one of the new colors found in the Subtles Collection in the upcoming 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog which goes live on June 1.

This is definitely a five-minute card creation.

Here's how:

  1. Stamp swoosh from Work of Art full strength onto Whisper White card front using Highland Heather ink.
  2. Stamp again without reinking the stamp.
  3. Reink the stamp and stamp again full strength.
  4. Stamp flower image from Flower Shop using Memento Black ink.
  5. Stamp greeting from Work of Art using Memento Black ink.
  6. Stamp sprinkles from Waterfront stamp set using Smoky Slate ink.
  7. Attach card front to Highland Heather mat.  Attach to Basic Black card base.

Done!

Don't miss out on any of the retiring product.

Marbled Happy Birthday-Night of Navy and Highland Heather

Blue Marbled
Highland Heather Marbled Background Happy Birthday

Here's another quick and easy Happy Birthday card made using the Marbled Background and Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.

You can see the masculine-themed card I created using the same ingredients, but using Smoky Slate and Basic Black HERE.

For this card, I used Night of Navy paired with Highland Heather, one of the new colors found in the Subtles Collection which will be available in the new Stampin' Up! catalog on June 1.

I'm a purple person through and through, so I had to purchase this new ink pad (new design, easier to open and close!) during the Demonstrator pre-order period.

This card is an easy to create in 5 minutes or less!

And the possibilities are endless.

Here's how:

1.  Stamp Marbled Background stamp on Whisper White card stock using Highland Heather ink.

2. Cut "Happy Birthday" out of Night of Navy card stock using the Big Shot and Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.

3. Attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.

4. Attach card front to Night of Navy card base.

5. Attach dots to complete.

Clean and Simple Touches of Texture Card

Touches of Texture Blocks
Touches of Texture

Unfortunately, I recently needed a sympathy card.

Sympathy cards are some of the hardest to make.

I created this clean and simple card using one of my favorite stamp sets, Touches of Texture.

The simple design works for any occasion, including sympathy or thinking of you.

Here's how:

  1. Stamp images from Touches of Texture onto 1 1/2" square blocks of Very Vanilla card stock using Memento Black ink.
  2.  Stamp the "fill in" images for the wings of the bee and dragonfly, the center of the large flower, and the flower buds using Crushed Curry ink.
  3. Attach to 1 5/8" square Basic Black matting.
  4. Attach to Very Vanilla card base using Mini Dimensionals to pop the blocks up.
  5. Stamp greeting of choice using Memento Black ink.  For this card, I used Teeny Tiny Wishes which is retiring on May 31.

Fresh Card Making Idea-Burned Batik and Batik Techniques

Layered Leaves Burned Batik
Burned Batik Technique

Batik dragonfly
Batik Technique

Batik  is a wax resist method of dying fabrics originating in Indonesia.

In stamping,  the batik look can be achieved by using the emboss resist technique called Burned Batik.

It can also be achieved by applying color direct to paper and adding highlighting with white ink.

Both techniques add vibrant colors to any stamping project.

My May Fresh Card Making Tutorial will feature the Burned Batik and Batik Techniques.

You Move Me Interactive Cards

The You Move Me Bundle is retiring!

The bundle includes the stamp set You Move Me (a fluttering butterfly and hummingbird), and the coordinating Move Thinlits Dies.

Here are some projects I've made using this bundle:

Pink Butterfly Card with Insert

You Move Me Butterfly

Move me Hummingbird

You Move Me Hummingbird

Of course, to get the full effect of these cards, you need to see it in action.

I created a short video showing how the butterfly flutters as you pull the card insert.

It's best to pull the insert out slowly to get the best fluttering effect.

How to instructions, along with short videos can be found on my You Move Me Interactive Cards Page found HERE

You Move Me Emboss Resist

You Move Me Emboss Resist
You Move Me Emboss Resist

You Move Me stamp set is retiring.

I combined it with the Emboss Resist Technique to make this colorful, spring-themed card.

Here's how:

  1. To do the Emboss Resist Technique, first, swipe a piece of Glossy White card stock (you can also use regular matte Whisper White card stock) with an Embossing Buddy.  Then, stamp the images from You Move Me using Versamark or Whisper White Craft ink.  For this card, I used Whisper White craft ink.
  2.  Heat emboss the images using a heat tool and white embossing powder.
  3. With a sponge or brayer, add different colors of ink over the embossed images.  For this card, I sponged on Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Marina Mist, Elegant Eggplant, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight inks.  Wipe excess ink off using a tissue or paper towel.  The embossed white images will pop!
  4. Attach card front to Elegant Eggplant mat.  Attach to Tempting Turquoise card base.
  5. Stamp greetings onto scrap pieces of Daffodil Delight card stock using Elegant Eggplant ink.  Attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop them up.
  6. Add enamel dots to complete.
