I recently needed a retirement card for a friend, so I decided to combine this great technique with the stamp sets Happy Home and Fun with Flowers.
To create the background, I simply patted Island Indigo, Marina Mist, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Crushed Cucumber ink pads directly onto my clear block "D",
spritzed it with water,
then stamped it onto my Whisper White (you could also use watercolor paper) card front, letting it set for a few minutes.
I lifted the block off and let the paper ink dry before stamping the image from Happy Home over the background.
I used Island Indigo, Early Espresso and Cucumber Crush markers to add color directly to the different parts of the stamp.
Remember, when you color a stamp with markers, "huff" on the stamp before stamping. This will add moisture to the ink for a better image.
The greeting from Fun with Flowers is perfect for the occasion for this card!
