Black and White Blended Bloom-Nacho Average Challenge #100

Wow! We are at our Nacho Average Challenge #100!  Congrats to our Design Team and thank you to all who have visited our challenge site and participated in our challenges.  We appreciate you!

To celebrate our 100th milestone, we invite you to visit our past Challenges 1-99.  Choose one, whether it be a sketch challenge or color challenge (or a combination of both), create a card and upload to the Nacho website. We'd love to see what you create!

Here's the list of Challenges 1-99 in a pdf format

Blended Bloom 005

For my card, I chose sketch challenge #97. I like that it is quick and simple and to the point!

Nac97

I stamped the new Blended Bloom stamp on a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Tuxedo Black Memento pad.  I then filled in parts of the flower using a black Stampin' Write marker.  The greeting is from A Dozen Thoughts stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.  A Cherry Cobbler Candy Dot was added to the center of the flower for an additional pop of red.  Don't think you can ever go wrong with the color combination of black, white and red.

Be sure to check out each of the Design Team's entries to the challenge and leave a comment if you can.  It means a lot to all of us!  We'd also love for you to play along with the weekly challenges.  A Linky Tool has been added so you can upload your creation to the Nacho Design Team site.

Stamp Sets: Blended Bloom, A Dozen Thoughts

Happy Birthday Blended Bloom

Blendabilities 003

This was one of the projects we did for a recent Blendabilities class I held for the Ladies of Wetmore.

I used the Melon Mambo Blendabilities collection to color in the Blended Bloom stamp set.  Bright, cheery, and beautiful!

Any of the Blendabilities would have been just as pretty.  Here's a sampler page of Blended Bloom colored with the other sets of Blendabilities I have-Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie.

Blendabilities 001

I think my favorite is the Night of Navy flower.  I am just drawn to that blue!

Stamp Sets: Blended Bloom, Sassy Salutations

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento pad

Paper: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Moonglow DSP

Blendabilities Vivid Vases

Vivid Vases 025

I've been playing with my new Blendabilities alcohol markers from Stampin' Up!

It takes a little practice, but is so worth it.  I've never been much of a colorer, but the Blendabilities make it so easy.

For this card, I used the medium and light Night of Navy Blendabilies for the vases.  I think the Night of Navy is my favorite color collection.  What's your favorite?

Stamp Set: Vivid Vases

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (my new favorite ink pad)

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy

Accessories: Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight , Old Olive Blendabilities, Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, Brights Candy Dot

Serene Silhouettes-Nacho Average Sketch Challenge #99

We have an interesting sketch this week over at the Nacho Average Challenge site.

Here's my contribution:

Serene Silhouettes 075

This card was inspired by a wildflower peeping trip my husband and I took recently.  We traveled the back road to the small town of Beulah, CO for lunch.  The wild flowers on this back road were so beautiful.  We saw all kinds in shades of yellows, oranges, whites, and purples.  Obviously, our winter and spring weather conditions were just right for the wildflowers this year.  What a special treat!

Here's the original sketch:

Ray of Sunshine-Nacho Average Challenge #97

We have a very versatile sketch this week over at the Nacho Average Challenge site.

Here's my contribution:

Ray of Sunshine 002

For this card, I used the Ray of Sunshine stamp set found in the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  I can already tell this stamp set is going to be one of my new favorites!  The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Flowerpot collection. To stamp the sun rays, I first created a template out of scrap card stock using my 1 1/4" circle punch.  I laid the circle on my Whisper White card stock and then stamped the rays around it.  I stamped the face on a piece of scrap Crushed Curry card stock using Tangerine Tango ink, then punched it out using my 1 3/8" circle punch.  I removed the circle template and placed the punched sun face in its place.  By doing it this way, the rays are lined up more neatly behind the sun.

The color combination found in the DSP, along with the sun and greeting just makes me smile!

Clean and Simple Petite Petals-Nacho Average Challenge #96

Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Rose Red are our challenge colors this week over at the Nacho Average Challenge site.

Here is my contribution:

Petite Petals 004

I wanted to create a clean and simple card using the Petite Petals punch and the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I love how these two little punched flowers coordinate with each other.

The greeting is from Vivid Vases.  I recently discovered a little trick for easily inking up only part of the image.  You may already know this trick, but for me, it was one of those A Ha! moments.  The Vivid Vases stamp has the line of flower vases at the top with the greeting underneath.  All I wanted was to stamp the greeting.  In the past, I would have inked up the greeting using a marker, but I have found that images inked up this way really don't stamp well.  So instead, I put a piece of packing tape over the vases and then inked up the bottom part of the stamp.  That way, I could really ink up the part I wanted without worrying about getting in on the part of the image I didn't want.  I simply removed the packing tape and stamped.  Scotch Tape will work to cover up smaller images.  TIP: Be sure to remove the packing/scotch tape or you'll have big smudges on your final stamping.  Ok, that may be the look you're going for, but then again, probably not :)

Be sure to check out each of the Design Team's entries to the challenge and leave a comment if you can.  It means a lot to all of us!  We'd also love for you to play along with the weekly challenges.  A Linky Tool has been added so you can upload your creation to the Nacho Design Team site.

Stamp Set: Vivid Vases

Ink: Pacific Point
