This week's challenge over at One Layer Wednesday is a summer theme.
What does summer mean to me? So many things can come to mind, but today, around here, summer means bears. (see story and photo below)
But on with the OLW Summer Challenge. To me summer also means flowers, and I have two contributions.
This card was inspired by my Bachelor Buttons that are in full bloom (one of my favorites). I used my brand new stamp set, Perfectly Preserved from Stampin' Up! This one is going to get a lot of use!
This one uses the stamp set Summer Smooches and Vintage Frames embossing folder.
Bears! We were visited by our first bear yesterday, and he has come around several times today. He is a young bear, probably only 2 years old. But, he already has 2 bright yellow tags in his ears which means he has been trapped and relocated twice. Third time means he will have to be put down. None of us wants that. We all try to co-exist peacefully with the wildlife in our forest. But this one is becoming pesky and he doesn't seem to be afraid of much of anything (including our dog who diligently patrols her yard.) We made a call to the Department of Wildlife, and an officer dropped off a supply of rubber bullets for my husband's 12 gauge shot gun. The goal is to shoot this little guy in the butt a couple of times until he realizes that this is not a good place to hang out. Wish us luck!
Thanks for looking!
