Bees, Ladybugs Valentine's Treats

I created these bee and ladybug Valentine’s Day treats to give as treats during a recent luncheon of the Wetmore Homemakers group.

The Wetmore Homemakers, initially called the Mountain View Homemakers Club,  has a long history, going back to 1949 when it was originally formed as a home demonstration club.

Many of these home demonstration clubs were sponsored by agricultural extension offices as a way for rural women to socialize.

Today, the Wetmore Homemakers meet monthly for lunch at  local restaurants.  We have 26 members, and we take turns as hostess.  Hostesses determine the date and place for the luncheons.

We are a casual group, getting together only for friendship and food.  We don’t have dues, officers, or rules.  Come if you can.  If not, we hope to see you the following month!

You can read about the original Mountain View Homemakers Club on the Wetmore Historical Society’s blog site HERE

January was my turn as hostess, and I made these treats to give to those in attendance.

They were easy to make using retired designer paper, heart dies, and the Bee Builder and Ladybug Builder punches.

The bodies of the bees and ladybugs are heart-shaped Dove chocolate candies.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the Wetmore Homemakers!
