Floating Strips Background Technique

Sunrise Part 2

I used the left-over piece from my Floating Strips Sunrise card HERE to create another Floating Strips Background card.

I paired the sunrise background with a Meadow Die cut out of Early Espresso card stock.

The greeting is from Pansy Patch.

Floating Strips Background Technique How To:

  1. Cut varying widths of card stock scraps.  I used Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry strips 1/4″-1/2″ wide and approx 6″ long.
  2. Apply strips to a window sheet or transparency sheet, leaving a space in between strips.
  3. Original Sunrise Card: Punch or die-cut a shape.  I used my 2 3/8″ circle punch. For this card, I used the piece left over after punching the circle.
  4. Attach to card front, apply adhesive to the back side along the strips so the glue does not show through to the front. I used Mini Dimensionals along the back to pop it up.
  5. Punch or die-cut an embellishment to add to the front of the floating strips.  I used a flower die from Meadow Dies cut out of Early Espresso card stock.t
  6. Stamp greeting on Crumb Cake card front. I used the greeting from Pansy Patch stamp set using Early Espresso ink.
  7. Attach die-cut flower to  using Mini Dimensionals to pop them up.  Add 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

The possibilities are endless!

Use any color combination and embellishments!
