Floating Strips Technique

After punching out the Floating Strips circle, I was left with this piece.

This was too good of a piece to just throw away.

So, I decided to incorporate it into a Floating Strips Stencil Card!

Floating Strips Stencil Card

Here’s How:

  1. Cut a piece for inside the circle.  I used the Meadows die and my die-cut machine for this card to cut a flower out of watercolor paper.  I lightly sponged on Mango Melody, Calypso Coral, and Crushed Curry inks.  Then, I over-stamped using the speckles stamp from Quiet Meadow in Calypso Coral.  This piece is actually a scrap left over from another project.  Another great way to use up paper scraps!
  2. Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to match the stencil piece.
  3. Attach the flower to the center of the Basic Black card stock.
  4. Add the stencil piece using  Dimensionals to pop it up.  Add the Dimensionals to the back of the strips, so they don’t show through the window sheet.
  5. Stamp greeting.  I used a greeting from Pansy Petals using Memento Black ink for this card.
  6. Attach embellishments to complete.

Done!
