You Move Me Interactive Cards

Butterflies! You Move Me Butterfly Card

Pink Butterfly Card

Here's another fun interactive card I created using the Move Me Bundle from Stampin' Up!

I created this one to send to my granddaughter on her 11 month birthday!

Lots of moving parts and surprises inside!

Perfect for little hands to explore!

(Be sure to see the other Move Me cards I create HERE)

Pink Butterfly Card with Insert

The butterfly is stamped on an insert that fits inside the pouch on the front of the card.

When you pull up the insert, the butterfly flutters.

Of course, this is one of those cards that you have to see in action to get the full effect.

I created a short video so you can see the movement of the card:

You Move Me Butterfly Card
How cool is that?

And it is easy to make!

Here's how:

Cut a piece of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Berry Burst card stock and score at 4 1/4" to create your card base.

Cut a piece of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series paper 5" x 3 3/4" to be used as your card front.

Center the louver piece from Move Me Thinlits Dies on the designer paper, and cut out using the Big Shot.  The sandwich used should be the Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Precision Base Plate, card stock, die, and upper cutting plate.

Move Me Butterfly step 1

To finish the cut-out square, create a square frame by nesting 2 square framelits dies onto a piece of Berry Burst card stock and cut out using the Big Shot.

Move Me Butterfly step 2

Apply SNAIL Adhesive along the edges of the frame.  Use your Silicone Craft Mat to catch any overflow from the adhesive.

Move Me Butterfly step 3Place the frame over the cut-out.

Move Me Butterfly step 4

Stamp "hi there" from You Move Me (2 stamps) along the upper edge of the border using Berry Burst ink.

To create the pouch, cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Powder Pink card stock to mat the designer paper.

Carefully layer and hold the pieces together with your fingers and cut out the top notch using 1 1/4" circle punch.

Apply Foam Adhesive Strips along the three backside edges of the designer paper.

Move Me Butterfly step 5

Remove the backing on the foam adhesive and attach the designer paper piece to the Powder Pink mat.  Attach to front of Berry Burst card base.

Now to create the insert.  Cut a piece of 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" Whisper White card stock.  Stamp the 2-step butterfly from You Move Me.

There are two images of the butterfly.  One large, the other smaller.  Stamp the large butterfly using Powder Pink ink.  Then stamp the smaller butterfly using Berry Burst ink.  The stamps are photopolymer, so they are easy to see where you are stamping. You don't want the lines of the butterflies to be lined up. You want the lines of the smaller butterfly to be offset from the lines of the larger butterfly.  It will look blurry, but that is ok.  That offset makes the fluttering effect work.

Move Me Butterfly step 6

Stamp the greeting using Berry Burst ink.  Mat to a 5" x 3  1/2" Wild Wasabi card stock.  Fold a piece of ribbon in half and staple to the top of the insert.  This will be used to pull the insert out of the pouch.

Stamp flowers and 2-step small butterflies on scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Berry Burst and Powder Pink inks.  Stamp leaves onto scrap piece of Wild Wasabi card stock using Old Olive ink.  Cut out using coordinating Move Me Thinlits Dies and attach to front of card.  Cut flower stamens out of scrap piece of Wild Wasabi card stock using Move Me Thinlits Die and attach to flowers using Glue Dots or Fine Tip Glue.

For the inside:

Move Me Butterfly inside

Cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Two-step stamp the smaller butterflies using Powder Pink and Berry Burst inks.  Attach insert to the inside of the card.

Stamp larger butterflies using the Rock 'n Roll technique.  Ink up the image using Powder Pink ink, then tap Berry Burst ink along the edges.  Stamp three butterflies and cut out using the coordinating thinlits die.  Score 2 of the butterflies down the middle and pop up along the center score line of the card base using Mini Dimensionals.  Attach the 3rd butterfly on the inside of the card base using Mini Dimensionals.

Done!  See, lots of moving and pop up parts for my 11-month-old granddaughter.  Hope it brings a smile to her and her parents!

You Move Me Hummingbird Card

You Move Me Hummingbird

Here's another fun interactive card I created using the Move Me Bundle from Stampin' Up!

This one features the fluttering hummingbird!

(Please see my card featuring the butterfly HERE).

You Move Me Hummingbird pouch and insert

I made this pouch card for my niece's birthday.

The hummingbird is stamped on a piece that inserts into the pouch.

When you pull up the insert the hummingbird's wings flap.

Of course, this is one of those cards that you have to see in action to get the full effect.

So, I created a short video showing the movement.

Move Me Hummingbird Card You Tube
 How cool is that?

And it is easy to make!

Here's how:

  1. To create the pouch, score 5 1/2" x 8 1/1" Tangerine Tango card base at 2 1/8" x 6 1/4".  Do not fold along the score lines just yet.
  2. Attach 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper to the front of the card base.
  3. Cut out an opening using the Big Shot and Square Framelits Die.  You can discard the cutout or use it for another project.
  4. Cut out the top notch using the Big Shot and Move Me Thinlit Die.
  5. Cut out the luver from a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Crushed Curry card stock using the Big Shot and Move Me Thinlits Die.  The sandwich should be the Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Precision Base Plate, card stock, die, and upper cutting plate.
  6. Carefully apply SNAIL Adhesive to the back side of the louver.  I placed the louver piece onto my Silicone Craft Mat and carefully applied the SNAIL along the outside edges.  You don't want the adhesive to extend to the inside of the cutout as it will hinder the movement of the insert once the card is assembled.
  7. Attach the louver over the square opening.
  8.  Fold pouch along fold lines and apply Tear and Tape to the edge of one back panel.  Apply Tear and Tape along the bottom edge of the middle panel to close the bottom of the pouch.  Remove backing off Tear and Tape pieces, and fold along the score lines, securing the pouch close.
  9.  To figure out where the hummingbird should be stamped on the card insert, place 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Whisper White insert into the pouch.  Make a small mark through the louver with a pencil.  Use that mark as a guide for placement.  I found it best to stamp the hummingbird towards the bottom of the insert.  It may sit lower as you are looking at the front of the card, but you'll get more fluttering effect as it moves up and out of the pouch.
  10.  Now to stamp the hummingbird onto the insert.  There are two images in the stamp set.  One is a full image of the hummingbird, the other is just the body and wing.  Using your pencil mark as a guide, first stamp the full image hummingbird using Tangerine Tango ink.  Then, stamp the partial image of the hummingbird over the first image.  The stamps are photopolymer, so they are easy to see where you are stamping.  You want the lines of the partial image to be offset from the lines of the full image.  That offset makes the fluttering effect work.
  11. Stamp the greeting from Butterfly Basics using Archival Black in at the top of the insert.
  12. Mat to a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" Basic Black card stock.  Puch a hole at the top and insert a piece of ribbon.  I used retired Tangerine Tango ribbon out of my stash.
  13. For the front, stamp flowers using Powder Pink, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango inks onto a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  Cut pieces out using the Big Shot and coordinating Move Me Thinlits Dies.
  14. Stamp leaves onto a scrap piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock using Old Olive ink.  Cut out using Big Shot and coordinating Move Me Thinlits Die.
  15. Cut flower stamens out of scrap Crushed Curry card stock using Big Shot and Move me Thinlits die.
  16. Attach flowers and leaves to front of card. Make sure you place them blow the louver as you don't want them hindering the movement of the card front.  Attach the stamens using Mini Glue Dots.  Attach Candy Dots to flowers if desired.

Hummingbird close upHere's how the stamped hummingbird should look.  It may look out of focus, but that is ok as again, that's what makes the fluttering effect work.

You Move Me Butterfly Card

You Move Me Butterfly

I'm loving the interactive You Move Me Bundle from Stampin' Up!

The bundle includes the stamp set You Move Me (a fluttering butterfly and hummingbird), and the coordinating Move Thinlits Dies.

Of course, to get the full effect of this card, you need to see it in action.  I created a short video showing how the butterfly flutters as you pull the card insert.

It's best to pull the insert out slowly to get the best fluttering effect.

You Move Me Butterfly Card Video

How cool is that?!

And it is so easy to create using the Move Me Bundle!

Here's How:

1. For this card, I created a pouch in which the butterfly fits inside as an insert.  To create the pouch, I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Calypso Coral card base, scored at 2 1/8" x 6 1/4".

Don't fold the pouch along the score lines just yet.

2. Attach 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper to the front of the card base.

3. Cut out an opening using the Big Shot and Square Framelits Die.  You can discard the cutout or use it for another project.

4. Cut out the top notch using the Big Shot and Move Me Thinlit Die.

5.Cut out the louver from a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock using the Big Shot and Move Me Thinlit Die.  The sandwich should be the Big Shot platform, Thin Die Adapter, Precision Base Plate, card stock, die, and upper cutting plate.

6. Carefully apply SNAIL Adhesive to the back side of the louver.  I placed the louver piece on a Silicone Craft Mat and carefully applied the SNAIL along the outer edges.  You don't want the adhesive to extend to the inside of the square cutout as it will hinder the movement of the insert once the card is assembled.

7. Attach the louver over the square opening.

8. Fold pouch along fold lines and apply Tear and Tape to the edge of one back panel.  Apply Tear and Tape along the bottom edge of the middle panel to close the bottom of the pouch.  Remove backing off Tear and Tape pieces, and fold along the score lines, securing the pouch closed.

9. To figure out where the butterfly should be stamped on the card insert, place 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Whisper White insert into the pouch.  Make a small mark through the louver with a pencil.  Use that mark as a guide for placement.  I found it best to stamp the butterfly towards the bottom of the insert.  It may sit lower as you are looking at the front of the card, but you'll get more fluttering effect as it moves up and out of the pouch.

10.  Now to stamp the butterfly onto the insert.  There are two images in the stamp set, one large and one smaller butterfly.  Stamp the larger image using Calypso Coral ink.  Use your pencil mark as your guide for placement.  Then, stamp the smaller butterfly using Crushed Curry ink.  The stamps are photopolymer, so they are easy to see where you are stamping.  You don't want the lines of the butterflies to be lined up.  You want the lines of the smaller butterfly to be offset from the lines of the larger butterfly.  That offset makes the fluttering effect work.

You Move Me Butterfly closeup

When looking at the stamped image, it looks out of focus.  But, that is ok as again, that's what makes the fluttering effect work.

11. Stamp greeting from Dragonfly Dreams using Night of Navy ink at the top of the insert.

12. Mat to a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" Night of Navy card stock.  Punch a hole at the top and insert Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched ribbon.

13. For the front, stamp 2-step butterfly using Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry inks on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  Stamp flowers using Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy onto the same scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  Cut pieces out using Big Shot and coordinating Move Me Thinlits Dies.

14. Stamp leaves onto scrap piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock using Old Olive ink.  Cut out using Big Shot and coordinating Move Me Thinlits Die.

15. Cut flower stamens out of scrap Calypso Coral card stock using Big Shot and Move Me Thinlits Die.  Attach to center of flowers using Mini Glue Dots.

16.  Attach butterflies, flowers, and leaves to front of card.  Make sure you place them below the louver as you don't want them hindering the movement of the card insert.  Attach candy dots to flowers if desired.
