Me too, recently!
I already had my Big Shot and Butterfly Thinlits dies out on my craft table after making this recycled grid sheet card HERE, so I was able to create this card in less than 5 minutes.
My inspiration came from this photo I had taken earlier in the day:
This swallowtail is feeding on alfalfa that I have growing in a small section of my garden that I call the "weed patch." In it, I have alfalfa, clover, mint, oregano, sage, and dandelions. All could be considered weeds in their own right. But, I don't see them as weeds as they provide food for many winged creatures, including bees.
And besides, a weed is in the eye of the beholder!
Anyway, let's get to the card.
I embossed my Pool Party card front using the Big Shot and Fluttering Embossing Folder and mounted it to a Crushed Curry card base.
I cut the butterflies out of Crushed Curry and Basic Black card stock using the Big Shot and Butterfly Thinlits Dies. The black overlay butterfly is attached to the solid butterfly by one Dimensionals on the body so the wings stand up.
The striped background paper is Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.
The butterfly is popped up on the background, again using a Dimensional.
I added a Blushing Bride candy dot to the center of the butterfly for a little more interest.
I stamped "sending wishes your way" from the stamp set Butterfly Basics on the inside using Black Archival ink. I love this greeting and use it often. It is perfect for almost any occasion: thank you, birthday, thinking of you....
Quick, simple, done!
