Easter Bunny York Peppermint Candy Holders

Happy Easter!

Here's a quick and easy Easter gift idea using the Big Shot and framelits dies or punches.

They hold a York Peppermint Patty.

Pyramid Pals Easter Bunnies

I created these cuties as thank you gifts for attendees at a recent class.

Here's how:

  1. Punch the front and back of the bunnies out of a piece of Shimmery White card stock using a 2 1/2" circle punch or the Big Shot and a framelits die. Sponge ink around the edges.  I used Berry Burst ink.
  2.  For the faces, I used the retired stamp set Playful Pals stamped in Basic Gray ink on the punched circle.  If you don't have that set or one like it, it would be easy to draw on the nose and whiskers with markers.  Use smaller circle punches to create the eyes and attach using Dimensionals.  Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Basic Gray ink.
  3. The packets of York Peppermint Patties are a rectangle shape, so I applied a little SNAIL Adhesive to the backs, and folded up the edges, securing them to the SNAIL.  This way, they are more round shape and the edges will not show beyond the Shimmery White circles.
  4. Apply SNAIL Adhesive on the back side of a stamped circle which will be your front and a plain circle which will be your back. Sandwich the York Peppermint Patty in between.

Pyramid Pals Easter Bunnies inside

5.  For the ears, again I used Playful Pals with the retiring Pyramid Pals Framelits dies.  I stamped the ear images on a piece of Shimmery White card stock using Berry Burst or Sweet Sugarplum ink.  I cut them out using the Big Shot and framelits dies.  If you don't have this set of framelits, you can always use oval punches to create the ears out of card stock. Apply a small amount of SNAIL to the bottom of each ear and attach to the inside of the front circle.

6. Stamp the bow from Playful Pals onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock using Berry Burst ink.  Cut out using the matching framelit die.  Use a piece of ribbon tied in a bow if you don't have the framelits die.  Attach to the front of the circle using a Mini Dimensional.

7. Punch a tail out of Berry Burst or Sweet Sugarplum card stock using a 1 1/4" scallop punch.  Or, use a small circle punch.  Attach to the back circle using a Mini Dimensional. Easter Bunnies Back

Happy Easter from me to you!

Brayered Springtime Foils

Brayerd Springtimefoils

Are you ever in the need to create quick and easy cards?

Those that don't require a lot of planning or supplies?

Me too!

Here's a quick and easy idea using the Sale-A-Bration Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, ink, and a brayer.

Here's what the Springtime Foils paper looks like before any ink is added:

Springtime Foils

Elegant and pretty as is, but when ink is added, it brings it to another level.

Brayerd springime foils close up

To get this look, all I did was add Berry Burst ink to the paper using a sponge brayer.

That's it!  Easy, easy.

To complete the card, I stamped two of the images from A Good Day stamp set on Shimmery White card stock using Berry Burst ink.  I punched the pieces using the 1 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, then layered them to pieces of Berry Burst card stock that had been punched using my 1 3/4" Circle punch.

I layered the Springtime Foils paper to a Whisper White mat, then attached it to a Berry Burst card base.

Done!

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31, so don't miss getting the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The color possibilities are endless!

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: A Good Day

Ink: Berry Burst

Paper: Berry Burst, Whisper White, Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper

Accessories: sponge brayer, 1 3/8" Scallop and 1 3/4" Circle punches, Mini Dimensionals

Basket Weave Embossing Folder Apple Pie

Basket Weave Apple Pie

The Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is one of this year's Sale-A-Bration choices.

It is included in the Blossoming Basket Bundle which can be earned with a $100 order.

While the coordinating stamp set, Blooming Basket, will not be available after Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31, the Basket Weave Embossing folder will carry over to the new Annual Catalog in June.

Sale-A-Bration is a great time to stock up on your stamping supplies!

When I saw the Basket Weave embossing folder, I thought the design looked like the top of an apple pie.

So, I made a quick pie to add my card!

Here's how:

1.Emboss a piece of Crumb Cake card stock using the Basket Weave Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  Punch out a piece using 1 1/4" circle punch.  Sponge Crumb Cake ink along the edges.

2. Punch out a piece of Silver Foil paper using 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to create the pie plate.  Bring up the edges slightly using your finger nails.

3. Attach the embossed circle to the scallop circle using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.

4. Stamp the Burlap background stamp onto Whisper White card front using Real Red ink.

5. Attach the apple pie to the card front using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.

6. Stamp greeting from Sprinkles of Life using Basic Gray ink.  Sponge edges of card front using Basic Gray ink.

7. Attach to Smoky Slate mat.  Attach to Real Red mat.  Attach to Whisper White card base.

8. Stamp apples from Sprinkles of Life on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Real Red ink.  Color in the apples using a Blender Pen and Real Red ink.

9. Punch apples out using coordinating Tree Builder punch.  Attach 2 apples to card front using SNAIL adhesive.  Attach the 3rd apple using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.

Blossoming Basket Meets Stampin' Blends

Blossoming Basket Bundle

Time is running out for this year's Sale-A-Bration!

Remember, for every $50 spent, you'll earn a free item out of the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

It's a great time to stock up on stamping supplies!

Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, so don't miss out.

Stampin' Up! released their second offering of Sale-a-Bration items in February.

One of the items available was the Blossoming Basket Bundle which includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set and coordinating Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

This Bundle is available with a $100 purchase.

The Basket Weave embossing folder will carryover to the new Annual Catalog to be released in June, but the Blossoming Basket stamp set will not.

The Blossoming Basket stamp set brings a smile and is a great stamp to using the alcohol-based Stampin' Blends to color it in.

Here's how:

  1. Stamp the basket image on a piece of Shimmery White card stock using Archival Black ink.
  2.  Color the image using Stampin' Blends.  I used the light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends for the flowers and the dark Calypso Coral Blend for the flower centers.  I used the light and dark Old Olive Blends for the leaves, and the light and dark Crumb Cake Blends for the basket.
  3. Stamp the tag image on the card front using Archival Black ink.  Stamp it again on a scrap piece of Shimmery White card stock and cut out using a pair of scissors.  Color in the hearts using the dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend.  Attach it to the stamped image on the card front using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up. Attach to a Crumb Cake mat.
  4. Run a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock through the Big Shot and Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  5. Attach to Calypso Coral card base. Attach stamped basket to front of card using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.
  6. Stamp the greeting below the basket using Archival Black ink.
  7. Tie a piece of ribbon into a bow and attach to the basket handle using a Glue Dot.  I used my very last piece of retired Calypso Coral seam binding

I really like the texture the Basket Weave Embossing Folder provides!

Stampin' Blends Meets Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper

Butterfly Springtime Foil

Sale-A-Bration is in full swing!

During Sale-A-Bration, for every $50 spent, you'll earn a free product out of the Sale-A-Bration Catalog!

It's a great time to stock up on supplies like paper, ink, and accessories.

Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, so don't miss out.

Stampin' Up! added the 2nd release of Sale-A-Bration choices in February.

One of the items offered was Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This pack has 12 sheets: 3 each of 4 12" x 12" single-sided foil designs (Gold foil, Rose Gold foil, and Silver foil).

This is the prettiest paper!

For this card, I decided to color in the flower and leaf images on one of the designs using the new alcohol-based Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive light and dark Stampin' Blends.

The Blends come in 12 exclusive Stampin' Up! colors and can be purchased individually or as a collection.

Easy, easy to add a pop of color!

I then paired the Springtime Foils paper with the Calypso Coral and white flowers design found in Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper found in the Occasions Catalog.

I attached them together,  added a narrow strip of Wild Wasabi to the seam, then attached them to a Calypso Coral card base.

I used my Big Shot and Butterflies Thinlits Die to cut a butterfly out of gold foil paper.

I attached the butterfly to the front of the card using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.

The greeting is from Butterfly Basics and was stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Calypso Coral ink.  I used a retired scallop oval punch to punch the greeting, then layered it to a piece of gold foil paper that had been punched out using a retired large oval punch.  I layered the greeting to the mat, then attached it to the front of the card using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.

I wrapped a piece of Calypso Coral Seam Binding that I had in my collection down the middle, securing it in the back.

The daisy from Daisy Delight was stamped twice on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Calypso Coral ink, then punched out using the Daisy Punch.

I stamped the middle of one of the daisies using gold metallic ink, then layered them using a Mini Dimensional in between.

I placed the daisy on the card front using a Mini Dimensional pop it up.

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was stamped on a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock using Basic Gray ink.  I banner cut the edge, slipped it underneath the seam binding, then attached the card front to a Wild Wasabi card base to complete.

Party Pandas Happy Birthday Messages in a Bottle

Party Pandas Message in a Bottle

I created these Party Panda Messages in a Bottle for my recent Happy Birthday class for the Ladies of Wetmore.

This is an annual class held in February.

We stamp, laugh, sing happy birthday to each other, and eat cake!

It's one of my favorite stamping events.

This year, I was steered towards making these messages in a bottle by accident.

You see, I  normally allow myself one Coca-Cola a day.  I usually drink 1 of the small 7.5  oz cans.

It's enough to give me my morning jolt without the extra sugar and calories of the larger cans.

But, on my recent trip to the grocery store, they were out of the small cans.

So, instead, I purchased an 8-pack of 12 oz bottles.

I'm always thinking about how I can recycle and reuse products in my crafting (see my Recycle and Reuse Page HERE), and when I saw these bottles, I knew I wanted to make them into Happy Birthday messages in a bottle!

Something a little different, something to bring a smile!

Here's how:

  1. Empty the bottles, wash out, and remove the labels.  This part can take some advanced planning.   It took me 8 days (1 Coke per day) to empty the bottles.  After removing the labels, I ran them through the dishwasher and set out to dry completely.
  2. Cut a strip of designer series paper to go around the middle of the bottle.  Since I knew I wanted to use the black and white pandas from Party Pandas, plus the caps on the bottles are red, I decided to use some Real Red DSP I had in my stash.  I cut the strips 1 1/4" x 9 1/2  ".  I attached a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to the DSP, peeled off the backing, and wrapped the strip around the bottle.  The seam is to the back of the bottle.
  3.  Stamp the pandas onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Archival Black ink.  Fussy cut the pandas out using a pair of scissors.  Be sure to cut the balloon string and part of the balloon too, as this part will be the base for the baker's twine and heart.

Party Panda Message in a Bottle fussy cut

4.  Cut a heart out of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper using the Big Shot and Wood Crate Framelits Die.  Attach to the partial cut-out balloon using a Mini Glue Dot to secure.

5. Run a bead of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the stamped string image and apply a piece of baker's twine up to the heart. Wrap the bottom of the baker's twine around, so it looks like the panda is holding onto the string.  Set aside to let the glue dry.

Party Panda Message in a bottle baker's twine

6. Tie a bow out of the baker's twine and secure to the top of the string using a Glue Dot.

Party Panda Message in a bottle heart

7. Place a Mini Dimensional behind the panda and the heart and attach to the front of the bottle.  Fold up the sides of the heart, so it is popped up a little more.

Party Panda Message in a Bottle closeup

8. Now for the message.  Cut a piece of copy paper to measure 4" x 7".  Stamp greeting from Happy Celebration using Archival Black ink.  Stamp panda from Party Panda using Archival Black ink.  Color in the dots on the panda's party hat using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.

Message in a Bottle

9. Roll the message up, and secure with a piece of ribbon.

10.  Fill the bottles with shredded paper, insert the message, and close up using the bottle cap.

Supplies Used:

Stamp Sets: Party Pandas (a Sale-A-Bration choice!), Happy Celebrations

Ink: Archival Black, Real Red Stampin' Write Marker

Paper: Whisper White, copy paper, Petal Passions, and Brights Designer Series Paper Stack

Accessories: bottle, Big Shot, Wood Crate Framelits Die, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue, black baker's twine, Real Red striped ribbon,  (retired), glue dots, Mini Dimensionals, shredded paper
