Beautiful Day and Wood Words Beta Sigma Phi Invitations

Beautiful Day BSP Invites

Beautiful Day BSP invitations

I am a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a non-academic social sorority.

Beta Sigma Phi formed in the 1930's and has grown to 200,000 members with chapters located worldwide.

I joined in 1983 in Albuquerque, NM.

In Albuquerque, there are about 20 chapters of BSP, each with approx 8-14 members.

When I moved to Colorado, I joined a chapter in Canon City.

In this area, there are only 3 chapters.

We may be small in numbers, but we embrace the sisterhood and friendships created through Beta Sigma Phi.

Each April, BSP celebrates Founder's Day, and each of the Canon City chapters takes turns hosting the event.

This year, it is our chapter's turn.

I volunteered to make the invitations to send out to the other chapters and past Women of the Year.

So, I spent a few hours recently making a few invites.  The colors of BSP are black and yellow, and the flower is the yellow rose.   So, the rose image in the new stamp set Beautiful Day was a perfect choice.  The cluster image of roses and leaves in Wood Words works as well.

Originally, I thought I would make a sampling of invites.  That way, the other members of my chapter could choose which one would be our invitation for this year.  But, we need so few, that I decided that we could use all of them.

They don't need to be the same, correct?

I made 5, and we'll probably need a couple more.  So, the chapter can choose which design they like best for the additional invites.

In making these cards, I used different techniques (heat embossing, Floating Watercolors, Quartz),  and different products (Brusho Crystals and Embossing Paste).

I used different papers and accessories, some current, some not.

But all using the black and yellow theme of BSP.

I am thy Sister....
