May Nacho Average Blog Hop-Picture Perfect

Welcome to the Nacho Average Blog Hop for May.  This month we are celebrating Mother's Day and Graduations!

For my projects, I am featuring the stamp set Picture Perfect.

Picture Perfect 022

Picture Perfect is a multiple-step stamp.  The set is made of photopolymer so it is easier to see through for lining up the images.  The packaging is numbered with each stamp (1-4 for the hummingbird, 1-3 for the flower and leaves, 1-2 for the starfish).  Also, each stamp has a tab at the top of it.  Use this tab for placement and alignment with each step. Make sure you don’t have any ink on the tab before you stamp.

Make sure the tab is pointed in the correct direction with each step.

I found it helpful, especially for the hummingbird, to make a small tick mark on my card front using a pencil.  Line up the tab on the stamps with this tick mark.  Erase the mark when you are done.

Experiment with different color combos.  The possibilities are endless!

For my first project, I used the 3-step flower and leaf images.  For the flower, I inked up the #1 image in Blushing Bride, stamped off onto my worksheet, then stamped onto my piece of Whisper White card stock. The #2 image was inked up in Rose Red, stamped off, then stamped over the #1 image. The #3 image was inked up in Melon Mambo and stamped full strength over the #1 and #2 images.

For the leaves, I switched the order.  The #3 image was stamped in Pear Pizzazz full strength.  The #2 image was inked up with Garden Green, stamped off, then stamped.  The #1 image was inked up with Mossy Meadow full strength.

I then cut the images out using a pair of scissors to attach to my card front.  I colored in pearl embellishments using a pink Sharpie Pen.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

For my 2nd project, I used the 4-step hummingbird image.  This one takes the most patience and practice, but it is so worth it!

I've included a quick tutorial on how I created this card. Click HERE to view as a pdf.

For my third project, I made an embossed resist gift card holder using the starfish image and Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die.

I stamped 2 of image #1 (there are 2 images in the set, but only needed 1 for this project) in Versamark on my Very Vanilla card front.  I stamped 1 on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  The two starfish were then heat embossed using white embossing powder while the third was heat embossed using gold embossing powder.

I then sponged on Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry inks around the white embossed starfish.  I then buffed the images with a paper towel to remove excess ink.  The ink will resist where the images have been embossed.  I cut the gold starfish out using a pair of scissors and popped it up on the front using Dimensionals.

The backing to hold the gift card is simply Very Vanilla layered onto a piece of Cajun Craze card stock.  I used my retired slit punch to create a tab for the gift card to slip under.  I punched a hole at the top and added some retired Crumb Cake Seam Binding to complete.

Thanks for stopping by.
