These little beauties were made using Tea Party Designer Series Paper, assorted brads for the eyes and paper clips for their feet.

Trace two birds onto colorful paper and cut out.  Trace pattern on back side of paper so you don't see your pencil lines on the front. Be sure to turn pattern over to trace out the back side of the bird so the front and back pieces match/face the same direction when you put them together.

Open and straighten out one end of two paper clips.  Attach to the inside of the bird using scotch tape. 

 Add a brad or eyelet for an eye on the front side of the bird. Adhere the two bird pieces together using SNAIL or mono adhesive.  Be sure to put a little extra adhesive where the feet are as this part will be bulky between the two pieces. 

 Use as table decorations or embellishments for packages.  Or take make the bird minus the feet and hang in a mobile.  Wouldn't that be too cute??

Gift Notes and Gift Cards

With graduations, Father's Day and summer birthdays fast approaching, it's always a good idea to have some quick and easy gifts on hand.  Gift cards certainly fall into that category.  Jazz them up by putting them in a specially decorated Gift Note from Stampin' Up!  Each pack comes with 30 pre-scored gift notes in Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Kraft (10 of each color) and envelopes.  Inside, there are two slots to securely hold the gift card.  Add a little decoration, and you're good to go.  Couldn't be any easier than that!

Parisian Summer Matchbox Boxes

Have you made any of the boxes using the exclusive Matchbox Bigz XL Die and the Big Shot from Stampin' Up?  They are so fun and very easy to make.

Recently, I held a wedding workshop for a good customer of mine who has a family member getting married soon.  They are planning on making the invitations and table favors, so she wanted some ideas.  The Matchbox Bigz die makes creating boxes for table favors a breeze.

We used Parisian Breeze, but any of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series paper would work great.  You can dress them up or down as you like.

 

Tips on using the Matchbox Bigz XL Die:

I found that Patty Bennett's video tutorial is very good and easy to understand.  There are some tricks to cutting out the boxes to maximize the use of 1 sheet of 12x12 paper as well as putting the boxes together. Please check it out at:

I also found that the score lines on the box bottom were a little hard to see, especially on the heavier weight Parisian Breeze paper.  So, I added a shim which helped quite a bit.  My shim was just a piece of white card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 to match the Designer Series paper.  My sandwich consisted of the extended cutting plate, the die, the shim, the designer series paper and then the upper cutting plate.  I found that I did not need the shim for the top of the box piece.

I put Hershey Nuggets in the boxes.  I decorated the Nuggets by stamping on a sheet of address labels, peeling them off and then wrapping around the Nugget.  Very easy!

Parisian Breeze Sweet Little One

Recently, I needed to make a welcome baby card, and I was so excited.  I very rarely have the opportunity to create a card for a new baby.  I'm at the age where my friends are no longer having babies.  But my son's friend and his wife just had a baby boy!

I used Parisian Breeze Designer Series paper.  Like To the Nines specialty paper, it also has a slight texture to it.  I love the weight and the feel of the paper!

Sense of Time card

Today's featured Designer Series Paper is To the Nines.  This paper has a slight texture which I love.  I also like the masculine colors.  I made this card for my Dad's birthday.  He collects and repairs clocks, so the moment I saw the Sense of Time stamp set in the Occasions Mini, I knew I had to purchase it just to make cards for him!

Tea Party Quilt Card

I think my favorite new Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up! is Tea Party.  It is so cheery and fun.

Here's another quilt card.  The quilt card is a great way to use up all of those paper scraps!

I got to use my new Eyelet Border punch on this card!

Good Morning Sunshine Quilt Card

For this card I used Hooray Designer Hardware.  I purchased the assortment at the beginning of the catalog year, but hadn't used any of the pieces yet.  Always fun to open a new package of something cool.  Just like Christmas!

Sweet Always Scallop Dress and Scallop Butterfly

Today's featured projects are made using Sweet Always Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!  This cute scallop dress card is made using the Big Shot and large Scallop Circle die.

 

But there is another fun project that you can make using the left over pieces from the scallop dress.

Here is the scallop circle before the dress is cut out.

 

After you've cut out the dress from the scallop circle, you are left with these two pieces which look like butterfly or angel wings.

 

And once the circle is cut out, you are left with this piece which can be used as a stencil or frame.

 

I put all the left over pieces together to make this cut scallop butterfly card!  The frame is the reverse side of the stencil polka dot piece.  Gotta love that double-sided designer paper!

Butterfly Frame

I love making these 3D frames! 

 

I used my new favorite Designer Series paper, Tea Party. The bodies were made using hat pins from the Pretties Kit and beads from my stash.  I glued the bottom piece of the hat pin using Crystal Effects.  The butterflies came from a pattern I found somewhere along the way.  Just traced them on the paper fold and cut out.  I layered them using Dimensionals.
