Spring has Sprung Picture Frame

As a birthday present to myself, I purchased  the set of Serif Essentials Alphabet dies for the Big Shot.  I've had so much fun creating personalized cards and scrap book pages using the dies. 

For this project, I glued assorted pieces of Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper (level 1 hostess gift) to pieces of cardboard.  I actually used a piece of cardboard that comes as part of the packaging for the regular 12 x 12 packets of Designer Series Paper.  I just used SNAIL adhesive to glue the paper to the cardboard.  By using the cardboard, it raises the letters, adding a little more dimension to the project. I then ran the pieces through the Big Shot and attached to textured black card stock before inserting into a discounted frame from Hobby Lobby. 

 

The butterflies were made using Beautiful Butterflies die, layered and attached with Dimensionals.

 

Oh, and this was my card for the April Stamp Clubs.  The theme was "Spring!"

18 cards x 6 letters each.  I cut out a lot of letters!  Thank goodness for the Big Shot!

Build a Brad Bracelet by Nichole Bahn

After attending my Build a Brad Bracelet class last weekend, Nichole created this beautiful bracelet for her sister using special family photographs.  This will be a very personal and unique Mother's Day gift.

Faux Mosiac Tile continued

Recently, I was cutting and scoring the bottom and insert pieces of the gift boxes for my upcoming Build a Brad Bracelet class.  I cut the corners out of each bottom and insert for folding, and had all these little square scraps of paper left over and accumulating.  Since I am offering a class on how to use up all those scraps, I thought I better do something with them.  The Faux Mosaic Tile technique is perfect for this job!

I love the crinkly look of the black embossing powder as the "grout".

Faux Mosiac Tile cards (Paper Scraps Class)

We had such a good time at the Paper Scraps class on Sunday.  It was fun to see the designs that the class members came up with using the Faux Mosaic Tile technique.  They all had the same supplies, but came up with very different designs.  Great job!

 

 

 

 

Faux Tile card

This is my first try at the Faux Tile technique.  It is a great way to use up all those paper scraps.

 

Here is my inspiration from a Travel Smith catalog.  I love finding color inspiration in the catalogs I receive in the mail.  My favorite for inspiration is ColdWater Creek.

 

Whimsical Birds and Stars Class, April 22

Create whimsical double-sided birds with paper clip feet and 5 point stars using Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!  Both projects would be great to hang in mobiles, to use as table decorations or as a card or package embellishments!

Branch Out Picture Frame

One of my new favorite stamp sets is Branch Out.  I decorated this picture frame I purchased from a local dollar store as a hostess gift.

 

It is hard to see from the photo, but the I ran the white background piece through my Big Shot using the wood grain Texturz Plate.

A Good Egg Stair Step card-Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

 

A stair step card is very easy to create.   And it folds down and fits perfectly into a regular invitation sized envelope for mailing.

Cut your paper at 10 1/2 x 5 inches

Score at 1 ¼, 2 ½, 4 ¼, 6 and 8 ¼ inches

Fold with hills and valley, smallest score ( 1 ¼” ) is folded down.

Stamp Set: A Good Egg

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Black Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Green Galore, Pink Pirouette, Tea Party and Print Patterns Designer Series paper

Accessories: Watercolor crayons, aqua painter, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds.  I used my oval Coluzzle to cut out the eggs.  The Oval die for the Big Shot would work too!

Shaving Cream Funky Forest

This was my swap card for the March Stamp Clubs.  I did the shaving cream technique which is one of my top 5 favorite stamping techniques.  I love the swirls of color.  It reminds me of tie dye.  I also like how every card is different.  I used Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie and very little of Ruby Red reinkers.  I really like the Funky Forest wheel.

Shaving Cream Technique:

What you need: white card stock, Shaving cream (I prefer unscented), reinkers, spoon, paper plate and lots of paper towels.

Spray a glob of shaving cream onto a paper plate.  Add a drop of 2 coordinating reinker colors (be careful, any more than that and the colors can become muddy when mixed together).  Slightly stir the shaving cream to swirl colors together.  Smoosh white card stock down into the shaving cream/color mixture.  Remove and wipe off shaving cream using paper towels.  You will be left with swirls of color!
