Autumn Vine Pillow Nugget Box

 

I made these Hershey Nugget pillow boxes using my Big Shot and Pillow Box Sizzix die as gifts for my workshop guests last weekend.  Each box will hold 3 Hershey Nuggets.  I stamped Avery address labels using the Season of Friendship stamp set in various fall colors.  Then I wrapped the address labels around the Hershey Nuggets.  Very simple!

Paper: Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper (I love, love, love this paper!), Whisper White, Real Rust

Season of Friendship Picture Frame

 

My friend Shelley Rael hosted a Stampin' Up! workshop last weekend.  I made this Season of Friendship picture frame for her as her Hostess gift.  This is such a simple, yet elegant gift giving idea.

Paper: Shimmery White, Whisper White, More Mustard, Real Rust

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby red

Season of Friendship Cracked Glass

 

My new favorite stamp set is Season of Friendship found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

The cracked glass technique was our project for the September Stamp Clubs.  I love the color combination of Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. 

Cracked Glass Technique:

1. Stamp image on white or colored card stock.

2. Cover entire image with Versamark and add Stampin' Up! Glassy Glaze or UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel). Heat with heat tool until  Glassy Glaze or UTEE melts.  When heated, Glassy Glaze will melt into liquid, giving the image a glassy look.

3. Repeat 2 more times.

4. After 3^rd time, put image in the freezer for 10 minutes.

5. Take out of freezer and immediately bend the edges of the image back and forth.  The Glassy Glaze or UTEE will crack.  This is another one of those WOW techniques.

When I saw the new Sock Monkey stamp set from Stampin' Up!, the first person I thought of was my friend Emilee Howland-Davis.  She loves monkeys, and I knew she would want the stamp set.  And she did, along with the Sock Monkey Accessories!  I knew I would not be purchasing the stamp set, so I asked her to create a few samples I could share with you.  She graciously agreed, and I think she did an awesome job!  Thanks Emilee.  Keep checking over the next few days for more great Sock Monkey ideas!

Fabric Scallop Envelope Bigz Die

You've heard me say it before, but I LOVE the Big Shot die-cut machine.  I especially love that I am able to cut out patterns in fabric (see Top Note Bigz Die Fall card posted on 09/27)

I really like working with fabric, but again, I'm not thrilled with sewing.  In fact, I find it very frustrating.  But once a year or so, I get an urge to sew something.  If I'm patient, I know the urge will pass.  But sometimes, it is just too strong, so I head to the fabric store and dig my sewing machine out of the back of the closet.  The fabric used for this project was a summer dress I made for myself several years ago.  It came out ok, but I didn't wear it much.  I think the fabric has been put to a much better use on this card:

 

Here's the inside with a small greeting tucked inside:

 

Stamps: Bella Blossoms

Paper: Sahara Sand, Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze

Ink: Pacific Point

Accessories: 5/8" Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, Earth Elements and Neutral buttons, Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Bigz Die, mini glue dots, and glue gun.

Here's how:

 

Cut your fabric and a piece of card stock to the same size.

   

                                                                                                                             

Glue the fabric to the card stock.  An Anywhere Glue Stick from Stampin' Up! works great!

 

Sandwich the pieces and run it through the Big Shot using the Scallop Envelope Bigz die.

 

Separate the two pieces, and you're ready to create your project.    

                            

   

I found using a glue gun to glue the sides of the envelope works best when glueing fabric.  Snail or Mono Adhesive and Sticky Strip just don't hold as well.
