Scallop Envelope Bigz Die Candy Boxes

Here's another great way to use the Big Shot die-cut machine and the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die.  I used Autumn Vine Designer Series paper found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I love this paper, especially the multi colored leaves!  These boxes are so simple to make.

 

 

Here's how:

                                                                                 

Using the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die, cut 4 envelopes using the Big Shot. 

  Here is what your 4 pieces will look like.  Don't they look like the start of Frankenstein faces?  Another project in the future, don't you think?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fold up the edges of the scallop envelope along the crease lines.

 

Then attach the pieces together at the side tabs.  I would recommend using  double sided Sticky Tape as your adhesive.  Snail or Mono Adhesive will not hold these pieces together.

 

 

Once all the sides are glued together, turn the box over and fold the bottom flaps in like this:

 

I added Mini Glue dots to each  flap to help hold the bottom together and to help square up the box.

Add 3 x 2 1/4 pieces of Designer Series Paper to each side, and then fold down the scallop edges.  I used Sticky Strip to hold down the scallop edges.  Fill with candy, and you are good to go!

Top Note Bigz Die and fabric

One of the things I like best about the Big Shot is that you can use it to cut patterns out of fabric.  I love working with fabric.  But I'm not fond of sewing!  I used the Big Shot and Top Note Bigz Die to create my swap cards for the upcoming Stamp Clubs.  I must say, these were the easiest cards to make.  After the die is cut out, layer it with card stock, add some ribbon, and you are good to go!

 

 

Here's how:

  Our swap theme is an all occasion fall card.  I went to Hobby Lobby, and found this beautiful fall fabric.  These are my colors!  The base of the card is Kraft card stock.  I cut and scored the card stock to regular greeting card size, 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

 

 

To apply the fabric to the card stock, I used the Stampin' Up! Anywhere Glue Stick. It works perfectly!  (you can also use a Xyron machine or double sided sticky embossing sheets) I  applied the glue liberally on one side of the scored card stock.

 

Since I want my Top Note to be folded in half, I placed the fabric beyond the score line on the card stock. You can then use your glue stick to glue down the excess fabric on the back side of your  Top Note once it is cut out. If you place the fabric even with the score line, you will have a rough edge of fabric after the cut.  I photographed the back side of the fabric and card stock so you could see the placement a little better.

 

 

 

 

 

Then place your fabric and card stock on the Top Note die. Again, since I want the finished piece to be folded, I placed the score line about 1/2" below the top of the Top Note pattern.

 

 

 

 

 

"Sandwich" your pieces (cutting plate, die cut, fabric/card stock, cutting plate) and run through the Big Shot.

Pop the piece out, and just like that, you have a a Top Note covered with fabric to use on your next project!

Holiday Frames Class October 12

The holidays are not far away, and it's time to start thinking about gift giving and holiday decorating.  Please join me for my Holiday Frames Class, October 12, 2008.

This class will consist of 3 framed projects which are perfect for gift giving and holiday decorating.  You may sign up to do 1 project, 2 projects or all 3 projects.  Please see photos of the projects below as well as class information.

Butterfly Frame:

We will create this special 3D butterfly frame using an 8 x 10 frame, Shimmery White card stock, Designer Series paper and beads. This is a perfect gift for that special little girl in your life!

 

Season of Friendship Collage Frame:

 

This delightful project will be made using an 11 x 17 collage frame and the new Season of Friendship stamp set found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.  The frame will be set off with coordinating 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.  This frame is perfect for year round decorating.

 

Season of Thanks Shadow Box:

 

This project is created using an 12 x 16 shadow box, Stampin' Up!'s Season of Thanks Decor Elements, tamarisk sticks, pine cones and a selection of artificial fall leaves.

This shadow box will add a special touch to your Thanksgiving decor!

Friendship Card by Jeanette Mayes Bond

This beautiful card was created by Jeanette Mayes Bond, my fellow SU demonstrator and sorority sister (Beta Sigma Phi).  Jeanette and I also roomed together at Convention.  She is a great lady, and I am enjoying getting to know her better.

 

I love the color combo of Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink.  Great job Jeanette!

Happy Birthday by Jane Jensen

My apologies.  It has been awhile since I have added a new post.  I've been so busy the last couple of days preparing for our Christmas Card Stamp Camp this weekend. Whew!  Paper and ribbon are cut, thank you gifts are made, packets are stuffed and supplies are packed up.  So, now I can concentrate on what I like to do the most: sharing wonderful projects created by members of my very talented Stamp Clubs!

This one was created by our newest member of the Saturday Stamp Club, Jane Jensen.  Gotta love the purple and blues!

This cute card was created by Sally Elledge for the August Sunday Stamp Club swap.  Sally used the retired stamp set Moose to You.  I love the Three for You punched flowers and rhinestone brads!

Pearl Ex Seasonal Whimsy by Teresa D' Anza

 

This is another great card created by one of my favorite artists, Teresa D'Anza.  This was her swap card for the August Sunday Stamp Club.  She used the stamp set Seasonal Whimsy, Versamark and copper Pearl Ex.  The designer paper is retired Fall Flowers.  I gave this card to my husband for his recent birthday.  I always give Teresa's cards to either my Mom or husband because I know I can get them back to keep in my collection! I've trained my Mom not to ever, ever throw away hand-made cards!

Hand-Made Marbled Paper

This card was created by Denise Carlson for our Sunday August Stamp Club card swap.  She used hand-made marbled paper she purchased while visiting San Francisco. The paper is absolutely gorgeous!  Denise added a special charm to each of the cards that she made herself.  We are very lucky that she shared her stash of hand-marbled paper!
