More pop up cards we did during this weekend's Stamp Clubs. The stamp set used was Happy Heart Day. The elephant was colored in with a gray pencil and Stampin' Up! markers. The mouse was colored in using Watercolor Crayons and Aqua Pens. Contact me to learn how: blumoon@comcast.net

One of the techniques learned in my January Stamp Clubs were these pop up cards. I have been having more fun making them in preparation for the Clubs and to give to my friends and family who had birthdays in January. I love working with the Designer Series Paper, and this is a great way to use it. For these I used Petals and Paisleys, Linen Prints, and Flowers for You. The stamp sets used were Polka Dots and Paisley, Bud Blossoms and Happy Heart Day (yes, there's that cute elephant again). The greeting is from Stem Sayings. I am so ready for warmer weather! Recently, I enjoyed one Sunday afternoon in my craft room just stamping for me. That doesn't happen very often. The sun was streaming in through the south facing windows, and it was very bright and warm. I was inspired to create this cheerful card using Stampin' Up re-inkers and blender pens. I had forgotten how easy it is to color using blender pens. The colors I used were Cameo Coral, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Blue Sky, Apricot Appeal and Barely Banana. The stamp set is Time Well Spent.
Here's another great Valentine's card idea. Stampin' Up! stamp sets used are Forever in My Heart, Property Lines, Short & Sweet and Short Order Alphabet.
This is a fun and colorful way to give Valentine treats to teachers, classmates,co-workers... The mouse is from the Happy Heart Day stamp set (included in the Valentine's Day Bundle). He was watercolored in using Stampin' Up's watercolor crayons and aqua painter. The bag topper was layered using Regal Rose, Rose Red and Flowers for You Designer-Series Paper.

Valentine's Day will be here before we know it! One of my favorite new stamp sets is Happy Heart Day. I have done more projects with this cute elephant. She just makes me smile!

Denise Carlson is one of my favorite artists. She has a great eye for color and is never afraid to "stamp outside the box." Here are two of her cards using Stampin' Up!'s Wanted and Bronc Buster stamp sets. These are very cool masculine cards that could even be given as non traditional Valentine's. I've been wanting to hold a class using the Pretties Kit (page 188 in the Spring-Summer Collection 2008) for the longest time. The kit is filled with different sizes of silk flowers, pearls, beads and brads that can be used to create a wide variety of beautiful projects.
One of the projects we will be creating is this pretty pin made with 4 sizes of silk flowers, a brad and a hat pin piece all found in the Pretties Kit. We will dye the flowers using Stampin' Up reinkers. I dyed mine purple (my favorite color) using Perfect and Pale Plum reinkers. You will be able to pick the color of your flowers. With at least 54 Stampin' Up! colors to choose from, the possibilities are endless!

I love the pinwheels on page 67 of the Spring-Summer Collection 2008 catalog! And they are so simple to create.
I used Stampin' Up's Flowers You Designer-Series paper to make these. I also used Baroque Motifs and Polka Dots and Petals stamp sets and Fire and Ice Rhinestones for the centers. The bottle is filled with isty-BEAD-sies bowl and vase fillers (from Hobby Lobby) and marbles. I used straws for the pinwheel "sticks". Each pinwheel is made with two pieces of paper for a fuller look.

The basic pattern for the pinwheel piece is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square once cut out. For the smaller blue pinwheel, I cut the square 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and didn't use the pattern. Once you've created one, it is pretty easy to make others at various sizes.
I also used my Crop- A-Dile to punch all the holes in the paper and in the straws.
