This is a great idea for using the paper backing on Stampin' Up!'s die cut stamps. Remember, all stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s mini catalogs are now die cut.
For this project, I used Snow Burst from the 2007 Holiday Mini Collection. I used Blue Bayou Prints Designer Series and the In Color Soft Sky and Blue Bayou paper. The ink is Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. The center of the the snowflake is an acrylic bubble from the Build-A-Brad.
First, I stamped the snowflake using Blue Bayou onto Whisper White card stock. Peel off the paper backing on the die cut stamp and position over the image. You may want to use re positionable adhesive to hold the paper backing down.
Then, I sponged the lighter Soft Sky over the stamped image using the "template." Remove the template, and you have added a shadowed image that is just like the stamped image. This is another way to do two-step Stampin!
